Corporate Team Building that shifts behaviour – not just morale
Where Strategy Meets Pressure — Performance Reveals Itself
Real pressure. Real decisions. Real insights your team will actually use.
Lasseter’s Reef, A Quest for Gold™ is an Australian desert-themed team building activity to create high performing teams. Small groups work together under pressure to achieve exceptional results. When the pressure is on, resources are tight, and the competition is closing in, will your team rise, or will they crumble?
This is the ideal high performing team workshop for organisations ready to stop hoping for great results and start building the habits, mindsets and strategies that deliver them.
A weathered expedition leader called Digger, a map, a budget, and a desert full of unknowns. Delegates step out of the conference and straight into the Australian outback, with a goal, a team, and a race ahead of them.
Digger briefs the teams and the goal is simple: to win. To do this, each team must:
In this high-performing team training, teams must access and evaluate incomplete information, weigh up competing routes, and make critical decisions with long-ranging consequences.
As they spread out across the map, the merit of their early choices becomes clear, and when they reach the gold mine, competition intensifies.
Success depends on their ability to plan well, perform under pressure, and stay focused on the finish when the stakes are real and the competition is closing in.

Lasseter’s Reef is engaging, fun, dynamic and exciting, but it’s the debrief where the real value is unlocked.
During the debrief, teams receive targeted feedback on how they performed; not just on the gold they mined, but on the decisions, behaviours and dynamics that got them there. Discussions link their performance back to real workplace realities:
We explore how participants showed up when resources were limited, information was incomplete, and the clock was against them, and unpack what that reveals about how they approach performance, pressure and competition back at work.
This is the ideal team building activity for high performing teams if you want a high-energy, dynamic experience that builds the attitudes, strategies and mindsets to achieve exceptional individual and team results.
Participants leave Lasseter’s Reef – A Quest for Gold™ having internalised key skills for high performance under pressure:
The learning outcomes directly relate to real-world workplace pressures, making this experience ideal for any organisation seeking to build stronger, more focused and consistently high performing teams.
Time: 3.5 to 4.5 hours including a short break. To get value from the debrief, we recommend a minimum of 3.75 hours.
Group size: Lasseters Reef is scalable and there is no maximum number – it can be run from 8 to 1000 participants or more.
Format: Indoor or flexible space setup; facilitator-led with all materials provided

We recently had the pleasure of having Experiential Edge join us for our Managers’ meeting. The day began with a brilliant activity which set a relaxed and engaging tone right from the start. This activity encouraged everyone to be open and ready to learn. We thoroughly enjoyed the friendly competition it created, and it was a fantastic way to bring the group together.

We’ve done a lot of corporate team building workshops in the past, but none have had the lasting impact of this one. It was sharp, well-facilitated, and completely aligned with our goals.

We needed something tailored for our team in government — not just off-the-shelf content. Experiential Edge delivered a session that respected our context and gave us tools we could actually use.

Simon and Kirralea take the time to put you in situations that aren’t always comfortable – and that’s the whole point. You’re not paying to be comfortable; you’re paying to be developed. They know growth happens outside your comfort zone- but somehow, they still make being uncomfortable, feel comfortable.
Would highly recommend.

Simon and Kirralea brought fresh energy and real insight into how we lead, collaborate, and build culture. Their workshops went beyond theory — they created space for real conversations and practical change, tailored to the realities of working in government. I’d give them 6 stars 🌟 if I could!

FAQs
None at all. Lasseter's is a high-performing team workshop that is fully inclusive - nobody is asked to undertake a physical activity they'd find challenging or overwhelming. There's no pre-reading, no pre-work, and no "right" background. A graduate, a team leader, and a board director can sit at the same table and each get equal value from the experience.
Everything happens inside your conference room. There are no buses, no offsite logistics, no weather contingencies and no complicated transfers - we bring the Australian outback to your function space. For organisers, it means one less set of moving parts to manage. For delegates, it means no lost time in transit.
You'll need enough space to fit a table for each team of 3–5 people, with sufficient room between tables for participants to move around comfortably. We bring all the staging, props and materials - your venue just needs to provide the space, tables, chairs and AV. If you're unsure whether your space will work, reach out to us and we'll happily sense-check it for you.
It works especially well for mixed audiences. Because participants are placed into fresh expedition teams for the activity, Lasseter's is a powerful way to build connections across departments, break down hierarchy, and give people from different parts of the business a genuine shared experience. It's one of the reasons it's so popular at conferences.
Where most high performing team training rewards enthusiasm, Lasseter's rewards clarity under pressure. Teams make real decisions with real consequences - planning, allocating resources, adapting to the unknown and navigating competition - which is exactly why the lessons land. It's not an activity teams win by luck; it's an experience that shows them how they actually perform.
And you won't find delegates stuck in their seats staring at slides. Our workshops are built around activity-based learning - fun, engaging and, above all, effective.
Absolutely - in fact, that's one of the most common ways it's used. Lasseter's fits neatly into a half-day or full-day conference agenda, and the themes it surfaces (planning, decision-making, performance under pressure) connect easily into keynotes, strategy sessions or leadership content running alongside it. We'll work with you to make sure the experience amplifies the rest of your program, rather than competing with it.
The earlier the better, especially for large groups. That said, we've pulled programs together at short notice before - if your event is coming up fast, get in touch and we'll tell you whether we can make it work.
And you won't find delegates stuck in their seats staring at slides. Our workshops are built around activity-based learning - fun, engaging and, above all, effective.
Alongside Lasseter's Reef, we deliver a full suite of immersive, activity-based corporate team building workshops, designed for conferences, off-sites and corporate events across Australia. Every team faces different challenges at work, which is why every one of our experiences is designed to deliver a different outcome. Whether you're lifting performance, shifting culture, sharpening communication or bringing people back into alignment, there's an activity built for the result you're chasing.
